More about Your Premier Gymnastics Club

Sydney Academy of Gymnastics was opened in 2009 by Skye and Tony Benson who between them bought not only a wealth of knowledge but also unrivalled passion for the sport plus a desire to build a club which would provide the best opportunity for all participants to achieve their full potential in the sport. Since opening, we have continued to grow in membership and establish ourselves as one of Australia’s premier gymnastics clubs. Sydney Academy of Gymnastics has developed a reputation for providing the highest quality gymnastics programs for children from 18 months of age and caters to all levels from beginners to those at a competitive level. Our owners Skye and Tony Benson have developed a club program structure that provides each student with an appropriate path to achieve their individual goals in gymnastics and reach their full potential in the sport.

Some of Our Achievements

Competitively, we have achieved outstanding results in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics at regional, state, national and international events producing numerous champions at all levels. The highlight of our club’s results over the last 2 years has been claiming the title of Overall Champion Club at the National Club Championships in 2014 and 2015, firmly cementing our claim as a premier gymnastics club. Sydney Academy of Gymnastics was awarded the NSW WAG Club of the Year in 2013 and 2014 and the NSW WAG Levels coaching team of the year in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2014 Skye and Tony were awarded the Gymnastics Australian WAG National Levels Coaches of the Year.

A Club that’s Passionate about Wellbeing

Whilst Tony and Skye are very proud of the achievements of their competitive team, they are just as passionate about the enjoyment, physical fitness and confidence gymnastics has provided to the countless participants who have attended their academy. They believe gymnastics is an excellent sport for all children and provides participants with the opportunity to develop strength, flexibility, co-ordination and also confidence, persistence and self-esteem. For each student the individual goal may be very different. For one student it may be to win a national title and another to learn a cartwheel but to Tony, Skye and the coaching team at Sydney Gymnastics, seeing each child succeed in their own right is important.
